                                  Forum 2: 20 - 27 October 2010

Theme: What works, what does not and under what conditions?

                                  The two discussants are:

Prof Ulf-Daniel Ehlers (Associate Professor and director of Technology Enhanced Learning Research Group at the University Duisburg-Essen (Ger-many) and Associate Professor of the Graduate School for Management & Technology, University of Maryland University College (USA)
                                  (Bio at:  http://science.without-borders.org/ulfehlers/?q=node/449 )

Dr Venkataraman Balaji (Director, Technology & Knowledge Management, Commonwealth of Learning)
                                  (Bio at:  http://www.col.org/about/staff/Pages/vbalaji.aspx )

Discussions on the theme were held from Wednesday 20 Octoberthrough to Wednesday 27 October 2010.

The paper "Big Shift!" (see below) has been specially prepared for this discussion by Prof Ulf Ehlers.  In the paper Ulf argues that if educational practices in an organisation are to be opened research shows that factors such as teachers, students, leaders of educational organisations and policy makers are all very important.

The paper "Big Shift - a commentary" is the response from Dr Vankataraman Balaji.
